What We Do
As component of the National Integrated Cyberinfrastructure System, DIRISA coordinates and promotes sound research data management practices and supports data intensive reseach.

We enable and support data intensive research by providing cyberinfrastructure for research data storage and data management services
SOUND DATA MANAGEMENT
DIRISA develops policies and guidelines to soundly manage research data across the entire research data lifecycle
DEVELOP EXERTISE
We coordinate and support training and research interventions that advance capabilities in research data management the data sciences
ADVOCACY AND OUTREACH
DIRISA engages stakeholders and users to ensure that the greatest value is derived from investments in research data

Data Recovery
Search and browse for data sets that are relevant to your research and optionally, download these
User Subcription
Subscribe and log in the full complement of DIRISA,s services. Authentication is currently granted through SAFIRE. However, in the future, more federated identities will be managed.
Data Deposit
This service will allow subscribed users to reliably and safely store their research data. Users have 20GB of storage for their personal use.
SA DMP Tool
The south African Data Management Planning tool (SA_DMP) allows subscribe researchers to create Data Management Plans (DMPs) that meet and conform to the requirements of universities and funders.
Mint a DOI
Get a Digital Object Identifier that uniquely and persistently references, your date set/s if stored at DIRISA or other Trusted repository.
