DIRISA alongside TENET, Talarify and the North West University have successfully co hosted a Data Carpentry Workshop at the University of Venda from 31 October 2016 to 2 November 2016.
The purpose of the workshop was to provide researchers and postgraduate students with tools to be able to perform research data analysis more effectively. The workshop covered the following topics:
- How to use spreadsheets more efficiently.
- Cleaning data sets with OpenRefine
- Using R for data analysis
- Drawing better plots
- Plotting data on geographical maps
